As the largest university-based local government training, advisory, and research organization in the country, the UNC School of Government works to improve the lives of North Carolinians by engaging in practical teaching, learning, and scholarship.
Our faculty members provide essential training and expertise to state and local government officials through courses, advising, and publications. In 2024, our faculty responded to 10,084 advising requests from leaders across the state. We had over 2 million page views on blogs that provide up-to-date information for local leaders. And we held 285 courses that provided valuable professional development to support leaders in addressing our state’s most pressing challenges.
Additionally, we prepare the next generation of public service leaders through our nationally ranked Master of Public Administration program. UNC MPA faculty and staff work alongside online and on-campus students who are using their education to better serve their communities. The program boasts a 98.9% Career Outcome Rate within six months of graduating.
Your support is what makes our work possible. We hope you will join us by making a gift to the School of Government Foundation, which supports the general operations of the school, or the UNC MPA Director’s Innovation Endowment Fund, which allows the program to provide critical support to innovative projects and its students. Thank you for your gift and for investing in the School of Government.
