Founded in 1920, the UNC School of Social Work is the #2 public school of social work in the nation (well on our way to the top!) and one of the oldest professional schools at UNC-Chapel Hill. Our School has adopted this statement as our mission:
At UNC School of Social Work, our students, faculty, and staff are driven by a purpose like no other: to understand the root causes of social problems and to develop and implement evidence-informed policies and practices that address these challenges. This commitment calls us to serve vulnerable and marginalized populations in North Carolina and around the world.
A gift to UNC School of Social Work is an investment in the well-being of families and communities far and wide. With your help, we can tackle society’s most pressing issues—substance use disorders, interpersonal violence, racism and social injustice, financial insecurity, and more. Your support makes it possible for us to create a brighter, more equitable future for all.
